About

Transparent and sustainable brand

Whilst living in New Zealand Miriam created a small organic clothing business; and named it The Settler Company.

Miriam is a fashion designer passionate about preserving pattern cutting, garment making and craftsmanship skills as well as promoting sustainability in fashion. She originally trained as a pattern cutter and garment technologist in her native Slovakia, followed by her First Class Fashion degree from Norwich University of the Arts in the U.K. In recent years she practiced at the University itself and was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

She is the 'hands-on' designer and principal of The Settler Company.

Miriam has settled in Norfolk and she now designs the garments and handcrafts them individually in North End Gardens' studio. The heritage values of The Settler Company resonate with the ethos and vision of North End Gardens and they both grow in harmony, here in Norfolk. The clothes respect our environment and are designed to last.

All fabrics are GOTS certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) and sourced from Europe.

The Settler Company is a transparent and sustainable brand and if you want to know more read here.
